Plymouth Albion continued building their squad for next season by adding two more new players to the 14 already announced by head coach James Shanahan.
21 year old full back Elliot Clements-Hill joins from National 2 South club Ampthill, while 20 year old loose head prop Luke Chapman moves to Brickfields from Devon neighbours Exeter Chiefs.
Clements-Hill learned his rugby at the Saracens Academy and after a loan spell at Bedford Blues he joined Ampthill.
In his time at Ampthill Clements-Hill scored 384 points in just 31 games, a total that included 22 tries.
Shanahan commenting on the signing of Clements-Hill said, “Elliot is a big points machine and he is an excellent broken field runner who has a big future.
“Full back is a position I was looking to strengthen and I’m really happy that Elliot has chosen Plymouth Albion as a number of clubs were chasing him.”
19 year old Chapman, who played junior rugby with Liskeard/Looe, has come through the Chiefs Academy and has representative honours with England under 18’s.
Shanahan said, “Luke is a young up and coming prop. He is very ambitious and is keen to give full time rugby a go.”
Chapman has been playing on loan at Exmouth and impressed head coach Jon Hill.
Hill said, “In his first season in senior rugby Luke made a massive impression in National 2. He played with maturity beyond his years and is sure to make a big impression in professional rugby for years to come.”
Shanahan is close to completing his squad for next season and is currently in discussions with three more players.
