Plymouth Albion have released 21 year old centre Ben Axten-Burrett from his contract after the former Cardiff Metropolitan University student picked up a serious knee injury prior to starting pre season training with the club.
Axten-Burrett ruptured ACL knee ligaments playing in a 7’s tournament and he is currently awaiting a knee reconstruction operation.
Albion head coach James Shanahan said, “It is really disappointing for Ben. I was looking forward to working with him and seeing him in an Albion shirt.
“Hopefully when Ben returns to fitness we will be able to have another look at him and re-sign him for next season”
Shanahan is currently exploring options with regards to adding another centre to the Albion squad for the forthcoming season.
