It was indeed a benchmark day as Plymouth Albion opened their doors to members and the general public after a year’s virtual total lockdown. It was also the day the nation paid its last respects and said goodbye to HRH The Duke of Edinburgh. With 13m viewers watching the Windsor Castle ceremony which logically reduced numbers at Brickfield on the day, but a steady stream of some nearly 500 guests took the opportunity to attend the club to...

It very much looks like history will record our time as the ‘Covid Era.’ It seems like an eternity that we were able to indulge in the luxury of travel, association and the freedom we took for granted before the constraints of masks, social...

Next up Tom Putt!   What’s been the one thing you have missed about a match day at Brickfields? ‘As others have spoken about it’s a bit of everything really. With the squad returning to training, we spoke to our Head Coach Damian Welch about the plans for pre-season and the changes at Brickfields.   With the club allowed to start training again, how have the first sessions back been? ‘The first couple of sessions have been as you’d expect after so long away from the club and without any rugby-full of energy, enthusiasm and noise! I’d imagine that there have been some sore limbs on the days afterwards as the guys have turned their frustrations at the interrupted rugby year into tearing about on the main pitch. It’s been...
