SUPPORTERS CODE OF CONDUCT

As we enter into the final stages of easing lockdown restrictions, Plymouth Albion RFC remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all attending Brickfields on a match day. When you arrive at the stadium on July 10th, things will look and feel a bit different with restrictions in place. The Spectators code of conduct is a shared set of principles in which we ask you to do everything you can to keep yourself and others safe from the effects of COVID-19.   The main differences will include:   Specific Zones for Spectators – in which there will be...

Brickfields charity match going ahead despite delay on easing Covid-19 rules

You heard it here first – the show must go on! Despite the unfortunate announcement on Monday by the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, we are still going ahead with the Charity game on 10th July 2021. Management had a meeting on Tuesday to discuss all the variables, pros and cons etc and we decided that we not only want to host this event but need to go ahead with the game – rugby has to return to Brickfields! We have been speaking to and will continue to liaise with the relevant local authorities to ensure we are COVID compliant and...

Balls to Covid!

Three of the city’s leading professional sports teams have united to lend their voices to the NHS and say, “Balls to Covid!” Over the last year, University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust has created a new rehabilitation service set up to help those recovering from trauma and illness during the COVID-19 pandemic. Strict infection control changes, as well as restrictions on visiting loved ones, meant rehabilitation teams needed to come up with a new way of making rehabilitation fun for patients. As a result, the COVID-19 Respiratory, Rehabilitation and Discharge Team created the #BallsToCovid Challenge. Using beach balls and music, the...

Where are they now?

By Ellie Venables, Albion’s finance director. This column I have been really excited to write, as a couple of weeks ago, a well-known Ex Albion Player got in touch with me and it got me thinking of doing a column on ‘Where are they now’. So this week I will be discussing 3 players from the era 2003-2005, Lee Robinson, Gareth ‘Gaz’ Evans and my personal favourite, Brian Venables. I’ll kick it off (excuse the pun) with Lee Robinson, or more commonly known as ‘Dolph’. Lee joined Plymouth Albion in the 2003/04 season after a short stint playing for our...

DUCKER RE-SIGNS

We are thrilled to announce Alex Ducker has resigned with Plymouth Albion. The Cornishman showed his try-scoring ability throughout his time at Albion and in late January 2020 won a National 1 player of the week award! Alex very kindly spoke to us about signing his new deal and what he hopes to achieve with Albion: “I’m relieved and excited if I’m honest, it’s been a horrible 12 months for sport and everyone really with this covid situation. Just looking forward to getting back to playing. I’m hoping to improve my all-around game, to be honest, it’s been a long...

Jack played in the back row for Albion during the 1960s and continued to support the club after his playing days were over, attending many home fixtures. His funeral is this Friday, 14th May, where his Coffin will be draped with a Plymouth Albion signed Shirt, together with Flowers in the shape of a Rugby Ball in Albion colours. Our thoughts are with his Wife and Family at this sad time.
