Plymouth Albion 34-27 Darlington Mowden Park

By Jack Guthrie Plymouth Albion managed to edge out National Division One rivals Darlington Mowden Park and win 34-27, in what turned out to be a closely fought game at the Brickfields where both teams came away with bonus points. After a pleasing victory in the Midlands last week against Birmingham Moseley, James Scaysbrook’s Albion were looking to continue their winning streak against the Durham side and seek revenge for their 27-point loss the last time the two outfits met. With the defence looking much improved since the appointment of the new-look coaching roster, Albion fans were eager to see...

The National League Pathway

The National Leagues have a strong history of helping players take their next steps in the sport. When tuning into the Six Nations over the next month or so, several of England’s current squad have experienced tiers three and four on route to representing their country on the international stage. For example, the likes of Kyle Sinckler, Maro Itoje and Tom Curry have represented Richmond, Old Albanian and Sale FC, respectively, and this particular pathway to the top is continuing to flourish. We are now seeing, arguably more than ever, National League clubs assisting the Premiership in terms of the...

MATCH REPORT

By Kevin Westlake Plymouth Albion has had something of a resurgence in recent weeks, with four wins from four in 2020 so far, but a tough trip to Sale was one match too far for the Plymouth men.
