Rest In Peace Colin Arthur Mapstone

Colin sadly passed away on the 23rd of September. He played for Plymouth Albion from the mid-1950s until the early 1960s. His position was Prop Forward, and he was able to play Loose or Tight Head. He also belongs to a group of players who not only played for Albion but also played against them. This he achieved when he represented Plymouth Combination XV, on Wednesday 30th September 1964. Colin could also be found at the Brickfields supporting today’s Team. We send our love and well wishes to his family. R.I.P. Colin

Rest in Peace Howell Phillips

Plymouth Albion is saddened to hear of the passing of Howell Phillips on 1st October 2020. Howell started his career at Plymouth Albion in the 1994/95 season coaching the Under 15s and continued to support the youth system as Joint Youth Co-Ordinator until the Albion Youth department relocated to Devonport services circa 2000. He taught many players who went on to have great success in Rugby, Luke and Tom Arscott, Jack Arnott, Chris Lowrie to name but a few. 🏉YOUTH RUGBY SESSIONS🏉

Starting Saturday, October 10th we are launching weekly rugby sessions at the rugby club for age groups 8-13! The session will start at 10am and will be an hour and a half for £5 per person! We will be playing a host of different games and multi-sport activities looking to engage young rugby players in the area! Our professional coaches will be leading the session, great opportunity to train and meet new people! All people need to do is rock up on the day, meet at the clubhouse and pay on the day!

Plymouth Albion has teamed up with well known local charity Shekinahs Mission to give the ground a facelift. MD Max Venables said “With a return to play still not super clear we’ve taken the opportunity to spruce up some areas of the Brickfields site. We were delighted to invite the Shekinah team to help with some essential painting and maintenance to complement ongoing groundworks by Brunel and landscaping from Arbocure. Plymouth Albion is excited to announce our latest venture. We are opening a “Plymouth Albion Therapy and Rehab” led by our Head Sports Therapist Mark Mears. This service will be available from the 1st of October and will be open to all supporters as well as members of the public.
