The team at Plymouth Albion cannot wait to try on their new kit.
The National League One side lined up for their team photo this week ahead of their first league game.
Only one thing was missing … their new kit!
Making the best of the situation, the adaptable team instead posed in branded aprons so that main shirt sponsor Bond Timber did not miss out on gaining maximum coverage for their support.
Plymouth Albion commercial manager Mike Scott says: “We have taken a fresh and exciting approach with our kit this year but it has unfortunately meant that a late brokered deal has resulted in a slight delay.
“Our players really wanted top quality kit and, naturally, we wanted to give our team the very best. For that reason, for the first time, we are working in partnership with one of the world’s largest online rugby stores, Pro:Direct Rugby, and industry-leading manufacturers of rugby clothing and equipment, XBlades.
“The official team photo at the start of the season is always a high spot for players and staff at any rugby club, so we wanted to make sure it went ahead. Fans can rest assured, however, that the team will be fully clothed for their first league game!”
Joining Bond Timber as sponsors featuring on the new kit are Brunel Recycling, Need a Cab Taxis, Nuffield Health, B&G Haulage, Paramount 21, Tolchards and Newton Abbot Races.
Mike adds: “We have been blown away by the support of our commercial sponsors and can’t wait to see the new kit in all its glory.”
One of the leading timber processors and suppliers in the south west of England, Bond Timber supplies both trade customers and the general public.
Bond Timber Sales and Purchasing Manager Emma Haley says: “As a local South West business, we are delighted to be supporting Plymouth Albion as main shirt sponsor this season. As good as the team look in their branded aprons, we can’t wait to see them in the new kit and wish the club every success this season!”
Albion’s National League One campaign starts with an away trip to Blackheath on Saturday, September 2, followed by their first home fixture – and Albion Family Day – on Saturday, September 9, at the Brickfields vs Esher.
