Seta Raumakita and Jon Dawe sign new contracts at Plymouth Albion
Plymouth Albion today added two more members of last seasons squad to the new group of players being assembled ahead of the 2016-17 National 1 campaign.
28 year old Seta Raumakita, who has represented the Royal Navy and Combined Services, is primarily a winger but can also play in the back row.
Fijian born Raumakita who made 12 appearances for Albion last season speaking about his new contract said, “Last season was my first at Albion and I really enjoyed it. I was pleased to be offered the chance to play for Albion again next season.
“We had a good squad last season and hopefully we will have a good team for the season ahead.”
Raumakita added, “ I’m in the Royal Navy and am stationed in Plymouth. When the Royal Navy team plays its normally on a Wednesday so that won’t impact on my availability for Albion at weekends.”
22 year old winger Jon Dawe (no relation to former head coach Graham Dawe) joined Albion from the Cornish All Black last summer.
Dawe has representative honours with Cornwall and he was a member of the squad that retained the County Championship at Twickenham last weekend.
Dawe was restricted to just 5 appearances for Albion last season after picking up a knee injury in pre season.
Dawe said, “I damaged my cartilage before the season started and it took a long time to clear up. I came back towards the end of the season and I really want to give it a go next season.
“Last season there was a great atmosphere within the squad and with a number of players staying at the club we should do very well again.”
“What happened last season at Albion was brilliant and I’m sure it will be the same if everyone buys in again.”
