Three months of ‘lockdown’ continue to ease with the opening of high street shops this week and a progressive return to social mixing, albeit at a distance of 2 metres. Premiership rugby squads have been called back to training with the season expected to resume in July. Bottom line, our own much-anticipated return to playing rugby at Brickfields is slowly coming ever closer; the ‘New Normal’ we hear about is beginning to dawn.
The good news continues, as I am delighted to announce Plymouth Albion and VX-3 have agreed to a new 3-year kit deal. VX-3 is a fresh new brand with decades of experience at its foundations and an evolution from the well-known Lovell Rugby family. I’ve been liaising with Ben Lovell and the playing section and I cannot wait to show everyone the new designs.
Indeed VX-3 is an ideal fit for us at Albion, as their values and philosophies dovetail exceptionally well with our own. Ben is very keen to help the resurgence of our club and we are delighted to welcome him and his company as our official kit sponsors.
I will be announcing how you can get your hands on an exciting range of Albi’s new VX-3 kit to grace your wardrobe in due course, but in the meantime, we will have a clearance sale of the remaining Albi sports stock. Watch this space!
Bentos, our Commercial Manager, is reporting good feedback from our existing client base. He has the ball rolling on our exciting range of sponsorship partnerships on offer to Plymouth’s business and commercial sector and pestered me to give him a mention as he’s always happy to talk to those keen for a chat!
Meanwhile, players are returning to pre-season scheduling with James Bish (Strength & Conditioning) and Mark Mears (Sports Therapist) supporting Damian to put the lads on the road to match fitness.
Local firm, Kineta Matcha have stepped forward in support of the cause. They have provided a supply of their ‘Raw Energy Bars’ to help the lads become the fittest, strongest and fastest team in our league. You can get your hands on the Raw Energy Bar together with a wide range of Kineta Macha products to maximise fitness and energise your life at; https://www.ilovematchatea.co.uk
As ever there is much work still to be done before we get back to rugby action, but I think it fair to say that we are on the right road making good progress in our mission to Make Albion Great Again.
