“Nothing changes” according to Plymouth Albion centre Dean Squire, who marks his 100th appearance in the club’s National League One fixture against Cambridge at Brickfields on Saturday (2pm).
The 24-year old will share the milestone alongside George Mills, whilst John Kelly marks his 50th cap.
Squire says he is excited to run out to a home crowd alongside his teammates on this special occasion.
He said, “This is a massive experience for all three of us to achieve and the chances of us all doing so on the same day are slim”.
“We’ll be looking forward to enjoying the game and enjoying the evening afterwards”.
Brickfields will play host to Cambridge, who sit two places and three points ahead of Albion in the National League One table.
This week’s visitors will be eyeing up a second successive victory following their 37-31 win over Sale last weekend.
They came up second-best against Rosslyn Park one week prior, ending an impressive streak and marking their only loss of 2020.
Plymouth head coach James Scaysbrook has said that Albion will be looking to make amends following their performance against Blackheath last weekend.
The former Exeter Chief reflected on the disappointing loss to the London side.
He said: “Looking back, we saw that we were quite rushed in our play and that we didn’t respect certain aspects of our processes”.
“Last week was a valuable learning experience for us. We have quite a young group and a young leadership group but it was still a frustrating result to take” said Scaysbrook.
While wintery British weather makes for wet and slippery conditions on the field, Squire insists that it’s an issue for the players.
“The weather is something we’re used to, especially here at Brickfields. We’re fully prepared for it and nothing changes in terms of our exit strategies and how we want to play”.
