George Mills set for another season with Albion

GEORGE MILLS SET FOR HIS FOURTH SEASON AT ALBION…

Plymouth Albion flanker George Mills is delighted to be signing for his fourth season at the club. The 29-year-old from Torquay is putting behind him six weeks spent out of the game last year after an early knee injury in the pre-season friendly against Bedford.

“An MRI showed that it wasn’t as bad as we first thought and after six weeks I managed to stay fit for the rest of the season.”

George started playing rugby when he was six years old and played for colt sides before his first senior team place at Torquay. He studied at the renowned Hartpury College in Gloucestrshire and played for Hartpury Rugby Club.

Even though this is his fourth season at Albion, he thinks he is continuing to learn and develop.

“Being signed again does mean a lot to me,” says personal trainer George. “The season got off to a sticky start,” admits George. “We were really good pre-season and that got our hopes up a bit too much. We were in a bit of a bad situation so to finish fifth is really good. There’s a good team spirit – we want to win every week.

“Now it’s about looking forward. We have a team that really stick together on the pitch and a great backroom team. Kieran (Hallett) and Dan (Williams) have a good working relationship and that showed. That definitely helped us. We were coached when we needed it and that helped us to improve our weaker areas.”
