Albion Have a Point to Prove Against Blackheath

Tighthead prop Jack Higgins insists that Plymouth Albion will be looking to ‘bounce back’ following their 26-25 loss to Sale FC last weekend.
Albion have a chance to get back to winning ways as they continue their National League One campaign tomorrow with an away trip to Blackheath (3pm).
James Scaysbrook’s side will make the journey to the London-based club with hopes of reviving their spell of excellence, which was dealt a blow by their narrow defeat last weekend.
Tries from John Kelly, Jamie Salter and a double for Josh Skelcey were not enough to topple the home side, who claimed victory with the conversion of their last try.
Jack Higgins spoke about the team’s reaction following the loss.
He said: “There wasn’t really much said at that time. We wanted to have a good bus ride back home because it was a long journey.
“We talked about it more on the Monday and Tuesday as a group. It was our mistakes that let them in and they capitalised on the chances that came as a result.”
But the 27-year old prop says his team are keen to make a statement and prove themselves as they run out against Blackheath.
“In the words of Ronan Keating ‘Life’s a rollercoaster’. There are those dips and troughs that happen through the season but we are definitely heading in an upward direction,” said Higgins.
“What matters now is how we come together as a team and how we perform as a group on Saturday.”
James Scaysbrook has made two changes to the side that faced Sale last weekend. Connor Eastgate re-assumes the fullback position as Sam Morley slots back in at fly-half.
On the bench, a complete overhaul of personnel has been adopted by the coaching team. Senior clubman Herbie Stupple is back in the mix while double try-scorer Skelcey will look to make an impact from the bench.
