The Team vs Caldy

Following last weeks game against Cambridge, where Albion came out eventual winners with a 29-17 win at home, Head Coach, Kieran Hallett is looking for another great performance from his team this weekend when they travel to the Whirral for their away game against Caldy RFC. Looking at last weekend’s game, Hallett believes both Cambridge and Albion started off ‘a little cagey’, but once his team knew what they had to do, they went out in the second half and executed their game plan superbly, to seal the game. Hallett said; “Fair play to Cambridge, we made two errors in...

New Loan Signing for Albion

Devon player Ashlee Crouch is the latest signing to strengthen the Plymouth Albion side as he joins the team on loan from National League 2 Barnstaple. Ashlee, 23, is Devon born and bred and grew up in Bideford. There was no history of rugby playing in the family but his mum saw the sport as a way of getting rid of some of his excess energy. “I’ve been playing since I was nine,” he says. “I was a pretty active kid and as soon as I could play my mum got me into rugby to let off steam. As soon...

PLYMOUTH ALBION LOOK TO BOUNCE BACK AFTER AMPTHILL DEFEAT  After losing last Saturday away against Ampthill, Plymouth Albion are looking for a positive response at home this weekend against Cambridge. Last weekend Albion made the journey to Ampthill and despite a very even first half, Ampthill proved too much for Albion to handle in the second half, with Ampthill coming out 48-15 winners. Head Coach, Kieran Hallett, commented on the game by saying; “The result against Ampthill took us by surprise and we didn’t see it coming. “We had a good week of preparation leading up to the game and...

The Team vs Ampthill

HALLETT LOOKING FOR DOUBLE OVER AMPTHILL Ampthill might be sitting 3 places above Albion in 4th position in National League One, but Albion Head Coach, Kieran Hallett is looking for the double over Ampthill this season to keep the team in touching distance of the top 6 teams. The last outing between the two teams was back in September 2018, where Plymouth Albion took Ampthill on at home, with the final score coming out in favour of Albion 17 points to 5. Since then Ampthill have lost just 4 games, the latest only last week when they lost to Esher....

The Team vs Blackheath

Hallett hoping for a happy new year! With the final game of 2018 making it three wins from three for Albion, Head Coach Kieran Hallett is looking to start 2019 with a bang at Blackheath. With the last game of 2018 against Esher finishing 19-16 to Albion, it was a tight game, but one that ended Albion’s year on a positive note and moved them up to mid-table in National League One. Hallett said, “The game was certainly more comfortable than the score reflected, the lads played with high energy and certainly showed an excellent work rate, but we just...
