INVITATION

Emerging from the Covid-19 lockdown we all face the challenge of working to restore and consolidate our business fortunes. At Plymouth Albion, we believe this is a challenge best faced TOGETHER.

We invite you to take a NEW LOOK at Sponsorship

As we see it, sponsorship is about putting your name and reputation on the line for someone else. It could be a major investment in branding, advertising exposure, corporate hospitality or as simple as recommending someone for a new role. Yet properly handled sponsorship is one of the most powerful marketing and cultural tools any organisation has.

SYNERGY

Synergy is better than my way or your way – Synergy is OUR WAY!

Albion has a fresh new vision to build a successful and sustainable future for our club. Building collaborative partnerships with our commercial sponsors, political fathers and the City’s army of sports fans in a mutually beneficial initiative.

We invite you to join us on this exciting journey as its Time to climb

In recent years we have learned many hard and valuable lessons at Brickfields. In brutal honesty, over-ambition, a failure to properly plan, the lack of adequate due diligence and over-optimistic budgeting combined to cost us dearly. Putting the club in the hands of the administrators back in 2016 came as an ice bath of reality to those at the helm.

BUSINESS AND ELITE LEVEL SPORT.

Make no mistake; Business, Politics and Elite Level Sport is TOUGH!

Were it not so, more would be at it.

All too often passions and over-ambition have combined to take many sporting clubs into financial realms way beyond their financial capacity to manage, finance and service. Under the steadying hand of Max Venables and the commercial experience of Chris Bentley, Plymouth Albion have regrouped and rebuilt a position where we can field a successful HERITAGE TEAM competing at rugby’s elite level with Brickfields building into major centre excellence in

Competitive Sport – Business Networking – Entertaining Clients and Suppliers

Business Development – Exhibitions – Seminars – Product Launches – Corporate Hospitality and much more.

That Was Then – This is NOW.

Thanks to the benevolent intervention of local businessman, Dave Venables and a generous £400k support package, our rugby club was rescued from the clutches of the administrators in 2016 and set

on the road to recovery. Our product is an elite level rugby team able to compete with the best clubs in the nation. Our vision for a bright new sustainable future is that of a HERITAGE CLUB.

Logically we want a winning team, but we have learned that ‘The Business of Business’ is an essential discipline required in our blueprint and vision for the future. Yes, we are ambitious for playing success and have put in place the elements required to achieve playing success but, our ambition is firmly rooted in realism and founded on proven business practice.

Efficient, diligent and hard-working administration in the ‘Business of Business’ of elite level sport is the element we believe gives us the edge over many of our competitors.

ALBION – A HERITAGE CLUB

When others see the boat – you may already have missed it.

The principle of a HERITAGE CLUB is to look to the local community for the playing, commercial and political elements necessary to build and sustain a competitive and successful club.

It is all well and good talking up our potential for Albion in the Premiership, but the multi-million-pound demand for entry to the Gallagher league is currently pie in the sky.

No! Reality tells us that the Gallagher Premiership is up and away far beyond the reach of any club who does not have an oligarch or multi-millionaire backer.

Plymouth currently is playing in the National League Division One. It is a good and competitive league with some great opposition to visit and entertain here at the Brickfields.

We do, however, have an illustrious history and proven track record playing elite level rugby. We have the experience to compete and win rugby games. Our playing squad is strong and in Damien Welch we have an exceptional young and gifted coach well able to steer us to promotion and success in the Rugby Championship.

The pieces are in place – Our administration is strong. Our blueprint for the future is fresh, realistic and visionary. In conclusion, allow us again to invite you to meet and talk.

Together we CAN – It’s time to climb

It costs nothing to talk!
